Welcome back to Phase 2 in the Snoop Dogg x VeeFriends Collaboration! Phase 2 is set to celebrate the collaboration between GaryVee and Snoop Dogg as well as Snoop’s passion for Web3, specifically his iconic Bored Ape known as Dr. Bombay in a game of Trivia.

To play, you’ll need to permanently burn one “Please Take a Step Back” NFT per attempt. There’s no limit on the number of tokens you can burn to play additional rounds, but please know you’ll need to burn 1 token per attempt. Each attempt’s final score will be calculated based on two key factors: Accuracy and Speed.

Introducing Burn Island Trivia!

Each round of Burn Island Eruption 7 trivia game will have 20 crafted multiple-choice questions that are randomly presented. Your score is primarily determined by the accuracy of your answers, with additional bonus points awarded for speed in providing correct responses. The top 11 highest scores, verified for authenticity, will be announced as the winners. The game draws questions from a vast repository categorized into 4 trivia categories: VeeFriends, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Snoop Dogg, and GaryVee.

To optimize participants’ chances of winning the contest, a mandatory “Trivia Sample” will confirm your internet connection speed before proceeding. If your internet connection is slow, you will be unable to continue and will need to attempt again later. Following the global average for fixed broadband download and upload speeds is recommended. It’s important to note that internet speed is just one aspect of the overall gaming experience, as factors such as latency, device performance, and network congestion can also impact gameplay, similar to other online gaming experiences.

Any unusually high scores, rapid-fire responses, and/or machine-added (hardware, software, or otherwise) that seem improbable will be manually reviewed by moderator through examining the data logs and other evidence to determine if any cheating or other misconduct was involved. Any entry determined to have cheated or other misconduct will result in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of any prizes or rewards determined by VeeFriends.

What is Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC)?

Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) is a collection of 10,000 unique NFT apes that exist exclusively on the Ethereum blockchain. The project was launched in April 2021, and since then, it has become one of the most popular NFT projects. Each Bored Ape NFT is unique and comes with its own attributes, such as clothes, accessories, and backgrounds, making it a one-of-a-kind collectible. The project’s popularity can be attributed to its strong community, high-quality art, and the scarcity of the NFTs.

The BAYC has attracted a significant following from celebrities, including Snoop Dogg! The project has also been featured in mainstream media outlets, including The New York Times and Forbes. The BAYC collection and other items in the Yuga ecosystem have seen high-profile sales, with certain items fetching above 6 figures.

REMINDERS on Burning Process

If Burn Island doesn’t already have approval of your PTASB token, you can expect two transactions with gas (check gas in real-time) associated with this Eruption.

Step 1 — Set Approval For All: A one-time transaction for approval and the burning transaction. Set Approval For All is required to grant approval for a smart contract to transfer multiple tokens on behalf of the user without requiring separate approvals for each token transfer.

Step 2 — BURN Your NFT: After you complete the Set Approval For All transaction, you can burn your NFT(s). Transactions on mainnet can take longer to complete than Layer 2 IMX. Typically the transaction can take 30 seconds to 2 minutes if your gas is set to the recommended amount (The preset amount has over a 90% chance of being in the next block). If you slow down your gas, it may take over 15 minutes.l

Q: What measures is VeeFriends taking to address latency?

A: When you play an online game or use an app, sometimes there’s a delay between when you do something and when the system or game responds. This delay is called “latency”. If you’re playing a game, it might be the time it takes for you to push a button and for your character to jump. In some other systems, it might be the time it takes for you to click on something and the system to respond.

To minimize latency’s impact on the participant’s final score, there will be 20 right or wrong questions. 5 points for right, 0 for wrong, for a total of 100 points. The more you get right, the better final score you will receive. Although the correctness of the question is key, in the end, there are bonus points for quick answers. The bonus is based on time. However, it combines tiered scoring and average time to answer. This structure allows a lower impact if someone has lower latency vs higher latency.

A deeper look into part of the equation for the bonus points for speed, including TimeModifier is calculated as 1 minus the difference between averageTime and maxTime divided by maxTime. This calculates a penalty or a bonus based on how the average time compares to the max time. If averageTime is less than maxTime, the time modifier will be greater than 1, increasing the final bonus. If averageTime is equal to maxTime, timeModifier will be 0, and if averageTime is greater than maxTime, timeModifier will be negative, decreasing the final bonus.

So, correctness is the most important thing, and speed is the bonus, which will be the tiebreaker.
