How to Participate in Scene Swaps on Burn Island and What You Need To Do So

Scene Swaps are breathing new life into the Series 2 collection. It offers VeeFriends Series 2 token holders an opportunity to reinvent their digital collectible’s background from something they adore into something they are remarkably passionate about. VeeFriends recently launched Scene Swaps through Burn Island Eruption 9 “The Second Voyage”, and the excitement is only beginning. This week, “Eruption 11” was unveiled, allowing ALL Series 2 token holders to combine their passions for digital and physical collecting, by swapping for exclusive VeeFriends Super Stickers scenes.

In this blog, we’ll guide you through the steps for participating in a Scene Swap to prepare you for current and upcoming Scene Swap events!

What is a Scene Swap?

Scene Swaps are a unique way to transform your VeeFriends Series 2 token(s) artwork by changing the scene. VeeFriends will collaborate with various artists and brands to create exclusive Series 2 Scenes, allowing participants to alter the appearance and metadata of their tokens permanently.

*It’s important to note that your Series 2 token will NOT be burned if the Scene Swap is part of a Burn Island Eruption. You will, at times, be required to burn a different VeeFriends token such as BOOK GAMES, or other eligibility requirements, while some swaps may not require a burn to change your existing Series 2 token Scene and related metadata properties information. The choice of change falls within your hands, you choose your own destiny. If you do not participate in Burn Island “Scene Swaps,” no metadata altering will happen, and your Series 2 token will remain in its original state.

For many Scene Swap eruptions such as Eruption 11, participants will be required to burn a specific token, such as BOOK GAMES, in order to swap the scene on their Series 2. Using Eruption 11 as an example, where BOOK GAMES tokens are being burnt, let’s dive into what steps are needed to set yourself up for success on Burn Island.

Setting up an IMX wallet and Purchasing BOOK GAMES tokens

BOOK GAMES tokens live on IMX, a layer 2 network on Ethereum. To be able to purchase one, there are a few set up steps required. First, begin by setting up your IMX wallet and following the instructions for depositing crypto and purchasing a BOOK GAMES token on Token Trove.

1. Set up an IMX wallet on desktop (IMX is not compatible with mobile devices.)
2. Navigate to https://tokentrove.com
3. Add crypto (in this case, ETH) to your wallet using the deposit feature. Please note that you will need to have crypto on your Layer1 wallet in order to complete your deposit!
4. Choose the BOOK GAMES collection and select the token you want to buy.
5. Click on “Buy” and confirm the purchase.
6. Wait for the transaction to complete, then go to “My Account” to see your newly purchased tokens.

Congratulations, you have successfully purchased a BOOK GAMES token! Now you can continue on to securing the required Series 2 token for Scene Swapping!

How to Purchase a VeeFriends Series 2

Series 2 tokens are available for purchase on secondary marketplaces. These tokens live on the Ethereum Layer 1 network and as such you’ll need to follow a few simple steps to set up a wallet and purchase your Series 2 tokens. First, create a network-compatible crypto wallet, fund it with some crypto, and then head over to your preferred marketplace to complete your transactions.

By following these instructions, you should be off to the races!

1. Create a crypto wallet. There are a few options of wallets to choose from, but for this example we recommend Metamask.
2. Add crypto to your wallet by sending it from an exchange such as Coinbase or by using MoonPay with your Credit or Debit card.
3. Navigate to a trusted secondary marketplace such as opensea.io.
4. Connect your wallet and set up your profile.
5. Search for the collection “VeeFriends Series 2” in the search bar.
6. Choose the token you wish to purchase. Please note: if you are purchasing to participate in the current Eruption we advise checking out the previously completed Scene Swaps to ensure you secure a token that is still eligible for swap! To check this, please see instructions here.
7. Click ‘bid’ or ‘buy now’ and complete the transaction in your wallet.
8. Congrats! You have successfully purchased your token! You can view your token directly in your wallet or on your marketplace account.

How to Scene Swap

Scene Swap is an incredibly easy process, just follow the steps below and you should have no issue swapping your scene:

1. Begin by accessing Burn Island at https://veefriends.com/burn-island.
2. Verify your eligibility by logging into your account and clicking “Check Eligibility.”
   - If this is your first time on VeeFriends.com with your new wallet, you’ll be prompted to complete the profile creation process before moving on to Step 3.
3. If you qualify, you will receive a prompt to proceed to the next steps, click “Proceed.”
4. Choose the token(s) you wish to burn and acknowledge the Terms and Conditions
5. Handpick your eligible Series 2 Tokens for Scene Swap!
6. After you make your selection, you will be redirected to a ‘Preview Page’ where you will be able to see the potential final products of your burn-scene swap — click ‘Accept’ if you are satisfied with the changes you are about to make to your token scenes.
7. Finally, confirm and execute the token burn!

Please Note: One swap will be available for each unique character pose. Holders of the same character can only swap if their pose differs from those already swapped. Tokens that have already had their combo pose/scene swapped will appear in the “Ineligible Tokens” section of the token selection screen.

Viewing Your Newly Swapped Token
