The VeeFriends gathered together in anticipation of the upcoming eruption. As they discussed the possibility of a new game, a mysterious figure emerged from the shadows. It was Cynical Cat, renowned for his sarcastic comments and pessimistic outlook. He appeared on the stage with a self-satisfied smirk and challenged the VeeFriends to a debate, mocking their ability to win the game.
Cynical Cat sneered: “Humans will NEVER overcome their fears and negativity! I challenge you to a debate, to prove me wrong!… Do you think you can change my mind? Ha! I doubt it!” The VeeFriends characters exchanged glances, uncertain of what to do when one VeeFriends stepped forward and said, “I accept your challenge!”

How Will the Winner Be Determined?
The winner will be determined based on what video best proves Cynical Cat wrong, whether through ingenuity, storytelling, authenticity, debate, or all of the above. The criteria for evaluation include:
- Use of ingenuity: The participant’s ability to come up with original and creative ideas that showcase their debate skills and prove Cynical Cat wrong in a compelling way.
- Storytelling: The participant’s ability to weave a narrative and tell a story that engages the audience and effectively conveys their arguments.
- Authenticity: The participant’s ability to present themselves authentically and sincerely demonstrates their passion for the topic.
- Debate: The participant’s ability to present compelling arguments that showcase relevance, clarity of thought, and creativity.
- Video Time Limit: The video must be maxed at 20 seconds. If the video exceeds 20 seconds, the entry is disqualified.
But please note it is not required that participants are in the submitted video themselves, have fun, think big, and win the debate against Cynical Cat, Good Luck!!
Who is Judging Burn Island 5 Contest?
All submissions will be evaluated by a third-party judge–DJA, who has over 60 years of experience judging contests. This third-party judge will evaluate all submissions based on the criteria for evaluation above to select the contest winner. The winning video will be the one that best showcases the participant’s debate skills, creativity, and authenticity while effectively proving Cynical Cat wrong in a convincing manner.
What Are CryptoPunks?
CryptoPunks are a collection of 10,000 unique 8-bit style characters, widely considered to be the most historic and valuable NFTs globally. Burning VeeFriends Series 2 (Ethereum Mainnet)
This contest is on mainnet, meaning unlike BOOK GAMES (which is on Layer 2 IMX), burning your NFTs will look a bit different.
As part of mainnet transactions, you can expect two transactions with gas (check gas in real-time) associated with burning for this eruption.
Step 1 — Set Approval For All: A one-time transaction for approval and the burning transaction. You will be required to sign and approve “Set Approval For All.” Approval is only required once unless revoked after the bid and is used to allow the transfer of more than one token to help save on GAS.
Step 2 — BURN Your NFT: After you complete the Set Approval For All transaction, you can burn your NFT(s). Transactions on mainnet can take longer to complete than Layer 2 IMX. Typically the transaction can take 30 seconds to 2 minutes if your gas is set to the recommended amount (The preset amount has over a 90% chance of being in the next block). If you slow down your gas, it may take over 15 minutes.
Note, all entry tokens will be BURNED. There will be no returning of tokens in the Burn Island Eruption 5 Contest.
