A Deeper Dive Into The “Please Take a Step Back” NFT Collection and Roadmap
VeeFriends and Snoop Dogg joined forces to release a new single “Please Take a Step Back” and a new NFT collection on the Ethereum blockchain inspired by the song. This collection not only brings together two titans of their industry, Snoop Dogg and GaryVee, but also unites VeeFriends and Death Row, making this a special release in music, business, and pop culture!
“Please Take a Step Back” is now available to be streamed on all major platforms! To commemorate the collaboration and its initial announcement at VeeCon 2022, VeeCon 2022 NFT ticket holders can now burn and exchange their ticket for a newly minted NFT from the “Please Take a Step Back” NFT collection created by VeeFriends in collaboration with Snoop Dogg.
The NFT collection will highlight the song lyrics and inspiration, giving VeeCon 2022 ticket holders the opportunity to collect a part of the song, the creation process, and Snoop Dogg and VeeFriends history. VeeCon 2022 NFT ticket holders will be eligible to burn the NFT ticket at a one-to-one ratio, with no limit on how many one can burn, for a newly minted “Please Take a Step Back” NFT.
And that’s just the beginning. Each “Please Take a Step Back” NFT also unlocks participation in Phase 2 & Phase 3 of the collaboration.
Phase 1 | Burn to Mint
Eruption 6: “Please Take a Step Back” NFT Collection
Phase 1 of the collaboration is the actual release and mint of the “Please Take a Step Back” NFT collection. Those who participate will receive a new “Please Take a Step Back” NFT for every VeeCon 2022 NFT they burn during the minting period. Released exclusively for VeeCon 2022 NFT holders on Burn Island as the 6th Eruption, “Please Take a Step Back” NFTs also unlock the remaining phases of the collaboration.
The “Please Take a Step Back” NFT collection represents a very special and unique collaboration between two icons of their respective fields and the art will memorialize it. Every generated token will possess unique traits and characteristics based on the song, Snoop Dogg, VeeFriends, Gary and Snoop’s iconic Bored Ape known as Dr. Bombay, and more. These NFTs will be one-of-a-kind digital assets representing the song and collaboration each with different rarities and traits. The supply of tokens will be determined based on the amount of VeeCon 2022 tickets burned. The only way to mint and acquire the NFT is to burn a VeeCon 2022 ticket.

REMINDERS on Minting Process
As part of mainnet transactions, you can expect two transactions with gas (check gas in real-time) associated with burning for this mint. It is recommended to mint in batches to save on gas fees and mint when gas is low.
Step 1 — Set Approval For All: A one-time transaction for approval and the burning transaction. Set Approval For All is required to grant approval for a smart contract to transfer multiple tokens on behalf of the user without requiring separate approvals for each token transfer. Allowing contract to approve bulk transfer can help decrease the amount of transactions to allow gas savings.
Step 2 — BURN Your NFT: After you complete the Set Approval For All transaction, you can burn your NFT(s). Transactions on mainnet can take longer to complete than Layer 2 IMX. Typically the transaction can take 30 seconds to 2 minutes if your gas is set to the recommended amount (The preset amount has over a 90% chance of being in the next block). If you slow down your gas, it may take over 15 minutes.
Note, all entry tokens are BURNED in real time. There will be no returning of tokens in this mint.
Phase 2 | Burn to Compete & Ape In
Eruption 7: Trivia to win a Bored Ape, Mutant Ape, Koda, Bored Kennel, or $APE
VeeFriends is excited to announce the newest competition on Burn Island: Trivia! Phase 2 of the “Please Take a Step Back” collaboration will be trivia to win a Bored Ape, Mutant Ape, Koda, Bored Kennel, or $APE. To celebrate the collaboration and Snoop’s love for Web3, especially his iconic Bored Ape known as Dr. Bombay, the trivia topics include: VeeFriends, Bored Ape Yacht Club, GaryVee, and Snoop Dogg.
This trivia competition will require the permanent burning of one “Please Take a Step Back” NFT per attempt. There is no limit on the number of tokens a user can burn to play additional rounds. In this trivia competition, users will face 10 multiple-choice questions. Each attempt’s final score will be calculated based on two statistics: Accuracy and Speed. Each trivia game is worth a maximum of 55 points based on these metrics. The shorter time you take to answer a question correctly, the more points you will gain. Every new round will consist of randomly generated questions.

The “Please Take a Step Back” NFT collection will also serve as access to Phase 3 — Burn to Attend. In this Eruption, individuals will compete to have the opportunity to join GaryVee in Atlanta to attend music legends Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa’s highly-anticipated concert in Atlanta on August 9th. There will be 10 winners from the competition. Please note, travel and lodge is not provided by VeeFriends as part of the experience.
