On October 1, 2021, the below 5 pieces of original hand-drawn artwork for VeeFriends will be auctioned at Christie’s.

  • “You’re Gonna Die” Fly
  • Gratitude Gorilla
  • Tremendous Tiger
  • “Diamond Hands” Hen
  • Empathetic Elephant

The Christie’s auction not only expands the market value of VeeFriends NFTs and the potential benefit for the community, but it also marks a major shift in the conversation around contemporary art. By aligning with such an esteemed authority in the art industry, digital art can no longer be dismissed as fake, silly, or less legitimate. This is a truly exciting moment for VeeFriends, the crypto community, and artists alike! It’s Gary’s hope – and ours! –  that this inspires more people to continue to be creative, and to expand their beliefs around what can be considered “art” in an NFT-world.

As the date is fast approaching, here is everything you need to know about HOW the VeeFriends’ Christie’s auction will be conducted.

Details below

Sale date:

October 1st, 10 AM, starting with lot 1

Lot Numbers:

92-96 can be found on the website here

Exhibition Dates:

Rockefeller Center Location (20 Rock) Saturday, September 25th-Thursday, September 30th

How to Register:

All those bidding needs to have a Christie’s account. It is very simple to set up and all that is really required is a driver’s license. From there, Christie’s can get it set up. Please note that new clients who are planning to bid above $75,000 will need to provide a financial reference which could be a letter from their bank or as simple as a screenshot of a bank statement. If the client looking to bid is planning to pay in Crypto, the same applies.

Bidding Options:

  1. Absentee bidding (a set amount, excluding buyers premium, that the client does not want to surpass. The auctioneer has these values in their book and will bid on behalf of the client up until the point they indicate. This scenario is ideal for clients who cannot be present during the time of the sale.)
  2. Telephone bidding (the client will be on the line with a Christie’s employee who is in the auction room and will bid on behalf of the client with them on the line instructing them how to proceed. This is ideal for people who want to be as involved in the sale as possible.)
  3. Emergency bids (client who is registered with a telephone bid can also leave an emergency bid. This is basically an absentee bid that is implemented should we not be able to get ahold of the client for whatever reason.)
  4. Christie’s live (the bidder will watch the live stream and bid from their computer. It is a very straightforward system and is ideal for people who want to be involved and have the most control over their bidding, assuming they have good WIFI. Christie’s live stream is open to everyone and doesn’t require registration to just view it. Oftentimes, people like to do telephone bids and watch the live stream as, in Christie’s opinion, the safest yet most controlled option.)
